Dear Cherished Families,

On behalf of the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery District Board of Trustees and staff, we regret to inform you of an incident that occurred Friday, January 12, 2024, during a burial service, where vehicles attempting to exit the Cemetery were seen driving across Section 3, Blocks 1 & 2 of the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery District.  Staffs attempts to stop the driver were unsuccessful.  However, photographs were captured and we urge the driver(s) to come forward.

Staff contacted the Butte County Sheriff Department & Gridley Police Department to make reports of the recklessness & public intoxication taking place at the Cemetery.  Dispatch sent out Highway patrol officers, Sheriff deputies and Gridley Police Officers. Thankfully, NO HEADSTONES/MONUMENTS were damaged in this careless act and minor grave repairs will be addressed by staff as they present.    Law enforcement will continue investigating and ask anyone with information to please contact the Butte County Sheriff Department.

Per posted signs at the cemetery, No vehicles on lawns.  We would like to remind the public that this is home to many of our deceased loved ones in the community.  Our staff takes great pride in its appearance as all beautification of the grounds are done by the District employees.  Please be respectful when visiting the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery District.  This is your Cemetery, please help us to educate other to keep it neat & clean.
